The "Rhododendron Leafhopper" (graphocephala fennahi) is a small insect coming from North America and that we can find now all over the west Europe.
It is easily recognizable because of its behavior of grasshopper and its bright colored coat.
As a matter of fact, the prevailing color is a fluorescent green with, on its wings, a kind of bright red "V" that seems to send signals when the insect is flying.
The "Rhododendron Leafhopper" lives in colonies where sometimes critical damage is done to rhododendrons.
Both the adult and the larva, in taking off their food, is insignificant but these takinks make for an open door to a fungus coming from America too that causes "Bud Blast".
To get the maximum of efficiency you have to use a systemic insecticide right after the bloom when the insect is still at the larval stage.
Repeat the treatment.
