On this picture we can see a part of the sawdust in the gallery.
The larva empties the sawdust by a small hole.
A small sawdust heap under a rhododendron is the only way to know that a "stem borer" is working.
Rather difficult to see, no ?
This insect is not common in Brittany despite the fact the pictures were taken in a Brittany garden.
