Usualy aphids are hidden below the leaf as shown on the former photo.
The exception is when they stay above they know very well where is the midrib.
Aphids are wingless, but a few of them, in spring, change into winged insects so that the females which can distribute their eggs farther.
As soon as leaves toughen aphids disappear.
