This small hole in a twig was made by an insect called "stem borer".
It is a flying insect.The main feature is an orange body with brownish stripes along its wings. The female's anal tuft is short and rounded when the male shows an odd fan-shaped tail like this one of a crayfish.
The female lays its egg straight under the bark and the larva which comes bores the twig in eating the wood.
