Take off a stamen from the selected father. This one also must come from a corolla still closed to avoid the possibility of a bumblebee having brought pollen from another rhododendron. Sometimes the pollen does not go out easily and you have to hit the stamen against something.
Put the pollen on the stigma. Sometimes it is sticky, sometimes not; but do not worry for it works even if it is dry.
